Your Guide, Adviser, Problem Solver and Trusted Overseer
The "Wellbeing Professionals" is a new service that is innovative and unique in New Zealand. We are your guide through a complex and confusing health system. We can assist you with every aspect of care for your dependent relatives.
As a nation wide network of qualified health professionals we work for you and the family.
We do not provide care - we assist you to ensure that your loved one gets the best and most appropriate care and services.that are available to them.
We also monitor this care to ensure your expected standards are maintained.
It's the Little Things Count
The smallest detail can be the critical difference that makes your loved one happy. We can assist with every detail from coordinating wills to arranging for special meals or activities for special occasions.
Too Many People To Deal With?
We can reduce the sometimes overwhelming number of people you have to deal with to get the answers you need to give you 'piece of mind'.We work with professionals of every specialty concerned with elder and disability services: care managers, family law firms, home care providers, health care facilities directors, financial advisors, clinical social workers, and nurses.
Independent Professionals for Your Peace of Mind
Our services are provided by our nation wide network of independent health care professionals. We have no affiliations with care providers, so you get the 'peace of mind' that comes with independent, professional evaluation and advice.
So you are always well informed, an important part of our service is the evaluation of the care and services being provided
- is your loved one clean, tidy, happy and well fed?
- are they involved in stimulating activities and attending church if they want to?
We'll make sure your loved one gets the care and services you expect, and we can help you decide what action to take, if not.
Health and Disability Commissioners Office
The Health and Disability Commissioner exists to advise health and disability consumers and to help them resolve complaints. The purpose of the Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994 is to promote and protect the rights of health and disability consumers, and to facilitate the fair, simple, speedy, and efficient resolution of complaints.
We can help you to get the most from this system through both our knowledge of the system and the relationships we have built within the system.
An Ounce of Prevention ...
While we can help you to resolve complaints, we prefer to help you identify and resolve potential issues before they become a problem, so you have nothing to complain about! We'll also help you create a 'safety net' - your reassurance that if needed, plans have been put in place and options are known.
From 'as needed' services to an 'all inclusive' package, we can tailor a plan to suit your needs and your budget.
Covering more than the traditional health services, your plan can include:
- Your own representative from Wellbeing Professionals (your guide)
- Healthcare and rest home service assessments (helping you choose)
- Regular or one-off care evaluations and peace of mind reports
- Health service provider liaison and facilitation (we represent your interests)
- Organising gourmet meals, breaks & holidays or escorted supervision
- Someone you can trust when you can't be there
We can also be your first point of contact if your relative is in care.
We'll take care of urgent, but non critical issues so you are not disrupted. We will take action on your behalf so these issues are not held up if you are not available - adding to your peace of mind when you are in a different time zone.
Common reasons for using the "Wellbeing Professionals" service include:
- Working in another city or country
- Relocating to another city or country
- Taking a well earned break to relieve stress
- Helping your family when you can't be there
